Awesome. Didn't expect such an offensive to start until she was officially out of office.

Oops. Only noticed it from the Gateway Pundit article. Oh well. Though the trolls seem to be resorting to the same script, but they're just parrots so it's to be expected.

Despite rumors of a looming controversy after the Republican governor's surprise announcement Friday that she would leave office this month, some of them published in the blogosphere, the FBI's Alaska spokesman said the bureau had no investigation into Palin for her activities as governor, as mayor or in any other capacity. "There is absolutely no truth to those rumors that we're investigating her or getting ready to indict her," Special Agent Eric Gonzalez said in a phone interview Saturday. "It's just not true." He added that there was "no wiggle room" in his comments for any kind of inquiry.

Best "Oh Crap" picture I've found so far.
I have no idea how this will turn out, but I guess predictions that she was going to slink away like a wounded animal were... in error.

Just stay tuned. Ignore the talking heads on both sides, they are only out for themselves. If Sarah decides to drop out of political life, can you blame her? But if she decides to campaign for every conservative (and I mean conservative, not Republican) running for office in 2010 what do you think will happen? She regularly gets 20,000 at any event she shows up to and I would bet every conservative would vote for anyone she supports. I will. After that, who knows...but I'm with her.

...She regularly gets 20,000 at any event she shows up to... This is a result of a visceral connection with a vast swath of the population. There is another politician recently who had that kind of visceral connection with a segment of the population. His connection was with those who hate this country, or at best fail to understand why it is great and worth preserving. He connected with the element of the population that believes that "America is not what it once was - what it could be", and who believe that the constitution is "fundamentally flawed" because it only protects citizens from government, but does not enumerate what government must do for citizens. He connected with the "God Damn America" crowd, and those who hate and malign our military. He connected with those whose desire is for America to become weak, ordinary, and complacent. So far, no politician who opposes Obama's hatred for America has found their strong voice of opposition in concert with those of us called patriots - no politician has stirred that visceral connection to the enemies of the America haters, save one. No one, but Sarah Palin. For those who love this country, she has stirred us, and connected with us via her authenticity, traditional lifestyle, conservative ideology, faith, and purity of heart. That is why 20,000 people drop what they are doing to show up when she speaks. That connection with Americans who love this country is why she has given up the governorship of Alaska. She has a higher calling. Whether that includes a run for the Presidency remains to be seen. But one thing I know in my gut - Sarah Palin has not yet begun to fight for America. There is not an ounce of coward in her.

Well I'm not gonna wax lyrically about her. There's still a couple of issues I firmly believe she had her head up her butt when she made the choices she did. I will give her credit though that other issues I disagreed with appeared to be resolving via a really nice bit of well thought out cunning.
Would I vote a ticket with her as VP nominee in the future? Yes. As far as POTUS I would really have to evaluate the field before I would consider it. Of course if we have another McAsshole and obie-wah type situation a choice would be easy.

Oh, I'm watching. I'll see how this goes and next paycheck I may send some money to the legal fund. If she's going to go back into politics, then the PAC as well. I'm feeling a strange urge for some popcorn, though.

What politician is there that can please everyone? I realize you know more about her than the rest of us, but there is no one speaking for us like she is. I'm not sure I've ever heard her say anything about running for POTUS, have you? She was chosen less than a year ago to help a failing McCain campaign get on track, and she did that with little help from McCain or his staff. If they would have let her be herself it might have been a closer race. Her head up her butt? I'll take that over what Bawney Fwank has up his ass any day.

Hush RD I'm currently doing my nightly sacrifice of a Sarah Palin plushie upon the Druid circle in my office......... Yes, no politician can really please everybody (though some could get damned close if they would hang themselves) Yes I intentionally used head up butt. I won't go into detail other than the base setup was in, studies were in the works yet her administration first ignored then killed a project that would have finally starting this state on the road to self sufficiency. Instead of bending the knee to tourists, letting out of state commercial fishing concerns clear the waters and relying far to much on oil production. Finally I mentioned POTUS only because half the bloody net pundits are speculating on her making such a run. Sigh, I just realized another sad fact. Some lurker is gonna take my first sentence seriously.....
