nationwide marxist walkout at colleges, 'education is a human right'. Bunch of teacher union bullshit. Their placard was on Beck today, pure soviet iconography.

One protester was detained, a Berkeley police spokesman said, but only because the person matched a description in an unrelated case.
"It was the peaceful protest we had hoped for," Officer Andrew Frankel said.

This morning, at UC Berkeley, about 100 protesters gathered at Sather Gate in a peaceful rally, although they blocked students from passing through the campus' main entrance. The rally was being monitored by university and city police, who were caught by surprise early Friday when a campus protest spilled onto city streets, leading to a riot and clash with officers on Telegraph Avenue. I'm confused by the 'news' article. What else is new? Did the riot happen tomorrow, or last week?

Rowdy protesters block campuses amid funding rallyBERKELEY, Calif. — Rowdy protesters blocked major gates at two California universities and smashed the windows of a car Thursday amid campus protests across the nation against deep cuts in education funding.
Protesters at the University of California, Santa Cruz surrounded the car while its driver was inside.
The uninjured driver was not trying to get onto campus and appeared to have been singled out at random, Santa Cruz police Capt. Steve Clark said.
University provost David Kliger said there were reports of protesters carrying clubs and knives, but Clark could not confirm those reports.
No arrests had been made at the school. I think this is the Friday they were talking about. Late-night protest at UC Berkeley turns violentBERKELEY, Calif.—A late-night demonstration over budget cuts turned violent in Berkeley when protesters broke into a campus building, torched trash cans, smashed windows and threw rocks and bottles at police, authorities said Friday.

They assume if they protest violently enough, burn lots of garbage cans, they can force the government to force tax payers continue giving them 'free' educations and allow the parasites who 'teach' them to continue sucking like thirsty blood suckers. Putzes.

It looks an awful lot like that Gotham font again, except the P, R, and exclamation point aren't quite right.

This is reminding me of a graphic programming tool in heavy use in the mid-90s. The packaging artwork / co logo was very reminiscent of the Glorious Soviet Worker iconography. Heavy on the purple though. Named Power-something. Can't recall the name now.

rickl, that picture's a classic. Nothing like parading one's grammar idiocy -- in the name of education.

What these manifestly ignorant clowns FAIL to comprehend is that we each have a duty…not a right, but a DUTY…to educate OURSELVES to the best of our ability. Long ago, I observed that each human being is issued one (1) human head…one cranium per customer. Given that we don’t all share the same head and brain, it behooves each of us to USE the faculties with which we have been endowed, and NOT put the burden on teachers, parents, the government, or anybody else to do all the work of instilling knowledge and wisdom into us. In a nutshell, the assertion, “But nobody ever TOLD me that!” is not a valid excuse for failure to cope with life. Having been given powers of observation and cognition, it’s our job to go out and collect data about the world around us, to distill it into knowledge, and, insofar as is possible, to make a contribution to the wisdom available to humankind. If we don’t, we have ourselves to blame. I posted this on one of my blogs here.

The protesting college students would probably tell you that learning the meanings of "Whose" and "Who's" is irrelevant and just another part of the oppressive patriarchal system that privileges coherent thought.
