Only about 100 left in the US, down near Brownsville.  But not endangered in South America.

I had an eye doctor appointment Saturday.

Salvador Dali had a pet ocelot.

I had friend as a kid who's hippy brother had one as a pet.  They never really become "tame".

I was visiting Montreal for a long weekend in 1985 ($29 one way fares via People Express).  While walking though Old Montreal, a fashionably dressed youngish woman had a young ocelot on a leash on the sidewalk.  As I walked by, the kitten attacked my achilles tendon on the back of my foot, like any wild animal trying to take down prey.  I agree, animal instinct overrides 'tame' every time.

I hope they sneak across the border for a little action from time to time, or they'll inbreed themselves to death in a few generations.

Isn't 100 around the minimum number needed to sustain a genetically healthy population?
